Some Diddie Cards.......

I used up some left over cardstock to make some of these diddie cards..... Great for tiny bits of paper left over.

The size of this card is 16cm x 14cm folded in half. I used the textured cardstock from a pack of DCVW from the range. The chequered paper is from creative living. I stamped in purely pomergranate with the large swirl from the Priceless stamp set and then I used the tiny flower from the same set in groovy guava. The two butterflies were stamped twice in purely pomergranate and I popped them up using some foam pads. Some diamond dots and some square brads were added for some sparkle. The sentiment is from a Hostess Set. I cut it out and then added a centre in the peach cardstock. Got to have some ribbon and the card was finished....

This even smaller card is a piece of purely pomergranate of 16cm x 8cm folded in half, a diddie square card.....oh! how cute x

I used a slither of cutie pie paper, which is doubled sided. MMM!!! So Lovely. I used the scalloped punch from stampin up, then a smaller circle, then the 1 1/4 circle punch from stampin up after I stamped the image from the Priceless set... I stamped it again and cut out the flower.

Added some blue brads and some more double stitched ribbon, gosh its going quickley my lovely ribbon. I pricked along the top just to finish it off.

This is the same size as above but the cardstock is Blue Bayou. I cuttlebugged it using the spots and dots embossing folder. I taped some ribbon down the side and stamped the Big Bloom on some white cardstock in Blue Bayou. I cut this large flower out and added a couple of layered circles and I stamped the flower from the Priceless set in the centre. I added a spotty brad these are from the range in the christmas section. I added an insert to this one and I just loved making these.....Thanks Janette.

Have a great weekend.

More Priceless....

Just one card for the moment, but I want to try some smaller ones. Janette said yesterday that the 3x3 sizes are so cute, so I'm going to try and get some done.....
The base colour is purely pomergranate and the spotty paper was from creative pastimes, now creative living. I stamped the smaller swirl and the circle all over a piece of white and split stamped the sentiment in 2 colours. I stamped the flowers 3 times on some DCVW textured cardstock in purely pomergranate and added a silver brad to the centre of them. I punched a round tab punch and folded it in half around the top . Card was done.......
Check back later and I will have made some diddie cards....

Priceless.....

I've been playing with the Priceless Stamp Set for the first time.......Don't know why its taken me so long!

The both cards are using the in colours of Stampin up. I added some spotty paper from creative pastimes now creative living. I stamped the large swirl in wild wasabi first and added some tiny flowers in groovy guava. Then I stamped the butterfly twice in purely pomergranate. I ticket cornered the two corners and added some punched out photo corners to the other corners. Layered it onto some more cardstock and added a piece of organza ribbon and stamped the sentiment SO KIND........

This one is using Blue Bayou and Soft Sky. The base cardstock was from the papermill at Street...

I cuttlebugged a piece of blue bayou, but only half and stamped on a piece of soft sky with blue bayou for the top piece. I used soft sky to stamp on the white card with the large swirl and added a couple of the lovely flowers. I added a couple of silver brads to the centre of each flower.

After adding some double stitched ribbon......Love this. I added one of my dragonfly jump rings which I have had for years from a craft show.

The sentiment is a penny black one.

Must get my MoJo back as I have had to catch up with my work so I've been short of time..

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

Garden Whimsey Butterflies........Again!

I just love this Garden Whimsey Set from Stampin Up. I saw a lovely card made on splitcoaststampers site using the 2tone butterfly idea and I just knew I wanted to case this....

I stamped the whimsey butterfly in versamagic pumpkin pie and added a touch of purely pomergranate around the edges on the orange card. When it was dry I cut out the butterfly and went all over the butterfly with versamark and then crystal embossing powder and set it with the heat gun. It curls the wings....

I used Blue Bayou and Soft Sky for this version.

Both cards are half a piece of card folded in half. Then the lighter colour was stamped using Tres Chic background stamp...Love it. I sponged a bit around the edge and stamped the butterfly in the lighter ink, a few times to build the background up.

I added some double stitched ribbon and a designer punch. I layered this punch up with some tiny tags and circles from cuttlebug. Finally I stamped the cute ladybird and cut her out and mounted her on top. A few little extras like the cheeky clips, wool and brads were added to finish the cards.

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

Punch Pals Christmas Card......

I finally cut the punch pals stampin up set and mounted it to its wood!!

I used Real Red cardstock for the base card, which is half a sheet folded in half. I used a piece of Glorious Green for the next layer and added some christmas paper from the new Dovecraft paper packs at the Range.....

I added a piece of striped green paper to gable green and glorious green. I pricked a few lines with the pricking tool and glued this to the card. Then I punched out a 3" scalloped circle in real red and then a 2.5" circle in white. I stamped the tall tree 3 times on the white circle and also in gable green. I cut out the 3 trees and used some pads to attach them to ones on the white circle.... Add some green stickles glitter glue for a shine....

The little penquin guy was just coloured in and cut out. Then I added some frosted lace stickles behind him. I added some ribbon held by some Cheeky clips from making memories!!!!!

I added the greeting on top of a couple of cuttlebug tags and the designer punch from stampin up, all this is glued to a large oval.

This set is gorgeous and goes with all the stampin up punches in their catalogue.

I hope to get some more cards done tomorrow.

Embossed Flowers using Keepsake Boards...

On the back of the Majestic Embossing Board, there are four flowers, which are great for cutting out and mounting onto your cards. The above flowers is embossing 3 times and cut out on the different embossing lines to get the 3 sizes of flowers. One the large one and the smallest one I cut out the centres and glued them onto some patterned paper, then cut the whole flower out again. YES Mary there is lots and lots of cutting!!! But you don't have to worry now, YOU are brilliant at it.........

The centre panel was done with another embossing plate from keepsake. I added some peel off dots where the lines crossed over. The outside scalloped lines are from the Romance Embossing Board.......

This is a close up of the flower. I added some Frosed Lace stickles around the flowers for a bit of BLING.....
This is made from the same flower, but nothing done to it except layer lots of them together, held all together by a brad. I punched the 2 corners with a corner adorner so that you can see the insert when the card is closed.
Pearlescent card works so well on these embossing boards.
This is the flower I used.

Hope you have a great weekend. We are making lots of pickled onions and chutneys tomorrow, well my hubbie is, so I expect the kitchen will need a right old clean up after that!!!!!

WE HAVE A WINNER....................x

Well a Big Thank You to all of you that entered the Blog Candy Giveaway, I have had so much fun reading all your comments and I'm sure everyone has found some new ideas of how to start making a card........
The winning comment is...........Sarah D.
Sarah said..... When I make a card I most often start with one element. It could be anything. Most of the time it is the ribbon, from there it all kind of falls into place. If I find that I am blocked it really helps when I clean up and just play with all my stamps, move things from one shelf to another, clean up scrap ribbon and just make everything all tighty. When I do this I find stuff that I just had to have and forgot about it really gets me going again, not only I know what needs to go on the stamp and craft shopping list!! I am good for about ten to fifteen projects after a good cleaning!!!
Pop over to Sarah's Blog and see what she is up to.......
I used to buy tons and tons of craft magazines to feed my ideas for cards. Or take photographs of cards at craft show (those stalls that let you!!!). But lately, since finding all the fantastic Blogs on the internet, the ideas you all come up with are just amazing. I haven't bought one magazine since. The splitcoast stampers site with even more ideas and the layout sketches are mostly where I look for inspiration now. But even with all that help, sometimes more often or not, I just sit in my little craft space, chatting away to myself and just play..... I love this hobby I am a totally ADDICTED Lady!!
I will get all your goodies off to you Sarah. Congratulations xxxx
I will have to look out for more interesting stuff for the Next Blog Candy Moment.
Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

Keepsake Boards........

This card is made using the Majestic Embossing Board from Keepsake Cards and one of the long Embossing Plates.

I started with a piece of A4 shimmery cardstock in white and scored it like a gate fold card but just made the left hand side a touch wider. I glued a pale green insert for the inside which I stamped a sentiment.

I used some patterned vellum on the left hand side and cut all the corners with a wrought iron corner punch. After glueing the vellum I used one of the embossing plates and dry embossed the swirl pattern down the right hand side of the card. I did the same again on another piece of white shimmery card and cut it down to fit on the left hand side under the flower topper.

This photo shows all the different layers of the centre piece.

I first embossed the large scalloped oval from the board in pale green and edged it with frosted lace stickles glue. Then I embossed the next oval in the patterned paper and glued this to the scalloped oval and added some peel off's. Next I embossed the smaller wavy oval and cut out the centre of it. I stamped the image, Gibson Girl, on acetate then layered this behind the cutout oval. I layered all the layers together and added some more frosted lace stickles.

This show a close up on the dry embossing. You can emboss dark card, mirror board, glitter board any really, but works so well on pearlescent card as the impression is so good.

This is the pattern on the embossing plates. You lay the card colour side down if you are using pearlescent card backed with white and use a 6mm ball embossing tool you follow the indents. You can even slip and go out of the grooves, it doesn't matter as it doesn't show on the other side.

Check back tomorrow for a cut out flower using the majestic board.

I will be logging back on sometime after 9am to pick the winner of the BLOG Candy!!!!!

Garden Whimsey Butterflies........

I finally had a chance to play with my Garden Whimsey Stamp Set from Stampin Up....

I used the in colours purely pomergranate and wild washabi. I stamped the butterfly in purely pomergranate twice and cut out the wings of one of the image. I used my pricking tool & mat to go around the outside of the square which I also cut the corners of with the tag corner punch.

I used the word window punch and layered the image onto some purely pomergranate cardstock. I made the ribbon slot with the small slot punch and threaded the ribbon through. I stamped in wild washabi with the background stamp Tre's Chic onto some patterned paper and layered it onto a piece of wild washabi. The cheeky clips are from making memories.

Another Medallion Stamp using Wraptures......

More Christmas Cards..... Less than 100 days Till Christmas.

These cards are made from A4 pieces of Cardstock folded in a gate fold, so they open up in the middle. I dry embossed snowflakes all over the base card and added an insert with a stamped greeting. I used my favourite snowflake border punch, to punch the tiny snowflakes down the middle of each folded side.

The Wrapture is made from another A4 piece of cardstock, one is based on silver and the other is gold. I used the template from Keepsake Cards. They are called Wrapture Plates and they come in lots of shapes, ie square, circle, diamond, heart etc. Pop over to the website as they have some amazing card galleries. I will be using the embossing boards tomorrow so you could check them out as well.........:-)

This stamp is a Snowflake Medallion from Hobby Art. This one is so, so easy to cut out with all the straight lines, a brilliant one to try first.....

I used Detail Embossing powder again as it shows up all the tiny lines to perfection.

A little bit a glitter added and the card is shining.

This is how the Wrapture comes. The large square has cut out square for you to trace around and cut out. They layer up perfectly and fit inside the actual square on the wrapture. You lay the wrapture diagonally on the piece of A4 cardstock and draw around it and then cut it out to decorate. The wrapture look so, so lovely dry embossed. To attach the wrapture around the card you can use velcro dots, these can be brought in Tescos or Staples Stationers...

Go on Have a play....

I will be using the Embossing Boards from Keep sake tomorrow so check back. Don't forget if you haven't entered the BLOG CANDY give away yet, you have until tomorrow at 9am....

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

NEW CUTTLEBUG EMBOSSING FOLDERS!!!!!!!!!!!

You cuttlebug lover's must pop over to provocraft and have a look at the new folder and dies......OMG!!! They are so lovely.........:-)xx

Medallion Stamps.......

Our good friend Tracey got me on to making these Medallion style cards. I saw one at her house when I took my shoe box of stuff around to show her what I had. Now I try and fit all my stuff into Half of a Garage in our Garden!! Try...

You can buy the stamps at Creative Stamping, the code for this one is HH 1108 H.

It is only one stamp as shown in the photo below. You stamp the image a few times, up to you how much work you want to put into it. Then as I have done on this card, using art institue clear glue and ultra fine glitter, decorate to your hearts content.... I do tend to use different colour cardstock on the different layers as well . These are cards for very special people as they do take a bit of time. I did one for my mum and she has framed it and hung it in her hall.

This card I decided to leave the glitter off. I used Detail Embossing Powder on this image as some parts of the design is tiny and the Detail is great for this.

This is the actual stamp I used for the above 2 cards and its quite a big one but its works fine.

Don't forget if you haven't entered the BLOG Candy yet, have a go by this FRIDAY at 9.00am.

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

Mojo Monday #3........

Good Morning......

I made this card yesterday for Julee's Mojo Monday #3 sketch layout challenge. Pop over to her Blog and have a play....

The stamp is from Hobby Art which I have had for ages and found it yesterday when I was looking for a long image. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder snowflakes for the background which I had first stamped the image on to the white cardstock. I've layered the whole image once and then just the sleigh again. The paper is a christmas paper pack from the range and most of the pages are already glittered.....that shop is stocking more and more DCVW paper packs. I was trying to keep to Julee's sketch but ran out of space as I couldn't cut down the image any more. The card size is a 5 x 7 card from the market gallery. I used 3 snowflake brads to hold down the ribbon (which was 99p from the range).

Talking of the Range they have got tons of ribbon for 99p and even velvet ribbon and the rolls hold over 3m.

Don't forget to enter the blog candy giveaway below if you haven't already, by Friday 21st 9am.

Have a great day,

Jenny:-) xx

Weekend in LONDON....

We have just come back from London, a treat for us to celebrate being Married on Monday for 19 years!!!

The Thames Festival was on as well and our favourite Borough Market near London Bridge. The Festival runs from the London Eye all alongside the south bank to Tower Bridge, well worth a visit if you haven't been there, its on every September. We walked from the Tower Bridge to the London Eye and then caught a boat trip on the Thames back, its a fair old walk.

Along the way we took a tour at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, which was so amazing. Made of Green Oak wood and has the only thatched roof in London, as these were banned after the Great Fire of London. The first picture is off the stage, behind the stage in the top baloncies are where the Lords used to sit, and the ground below it takes up to 600 people standing!!! Wouldn't want to be one of those.... especially in shakespeare time as the people apparently didn't wash too much and because of the crowds and lack of space if you needed the toilet, they would do it there and then!!! Lovely.
The second photo is taken from the stalls and the wood was fantastic. Another 1000 people can watch the play seated.

The third photo is a closer view off the stage and the marble pillars are not marble at all but two large oak trees!!! painted to look like marble, everything is wood.

We popped into the science museum today and we watched a 3D film on their IMAX screen. These are my 3 boys with their funny glasses:-)

Hope you have a good weekend.
Jenny:-) xx

WS Designs......

This card is made using one of the Tempting Templates from WS Designs. This template is called a Square K card.

To make it you need 2 pieces of A4 cardstock, this was my last of my pink craftwork cardstock, Oh Dear!

Decorate as you wish, I stamped in white versacolor and used white embossing powder with one of the hero art flowers. I added peel offs around the outside of the window and peel off words, then a piece of ribbon of cause!

This view shows the inside and square decorated.

Fold on all the score lines, so it looks like this view of the card.

This is the template used, which can be purchased from WS Designs on Telephone 01908 542759.

Have a go, once you get the hang off which fold to cut and which fold to score, they really are quite easy cards to make. They do fold down quite flat but you would have to pay the extra postage when sending them to someone.

These templates come in lots of designs.

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

Poetic Artistry - Julee's Mojo Monday Challenge #2

Whilst visiting Beate's Blog yesterday, I saw that she was taking part in Julee's Blog challenge. Julee has started doing a Mojo Monday Challenge with a layout, so I was hunting for an idea for our thursday craft day with the addicted ladies and thought I would have a go too........

This is the card I came up with and my card we will all be making today. I have only just finished it and I should have been gone by now !!

The card is a piece of brown A5 folded in half. All the card is from the DcWv cardstock and paper packs from the range. I used a 3" scalloped circle punch, then 2.5" circle punch and finally a 2" circle punch. The snail is from the garden whimsey set of stampin up and the grass is done with a mesh stamp from hero arts. The ink is a versamagic pad called Jumbo Java. I used the ticket corner punch for the corners and the tiny bubbles cuttlebug embossing folder for embossing. The best friends is also from the garden whimsey set and punched out using the window word punch. Stuck it all together and the card was done.....

Pop over to Julee's blog and check out her lovely cards and why not have a go at the challenge.

At this rate I will have to make cards everyday if I keep entering the challenges set by all you talented ladies! I don't know how to do the layout sketches or I would come up with one.

Have a good day,
Jenny :-) xx

Another Criss-Cross Card

I made another criss-cross card yesterday. The light wasn't very good when I took the photos so they are a bit dark.

The card stock is real red and glorious green, and the patterned paper is Doodlebug. I added a 2" scalloped punch with the Father Christmas image stamped on a smaller circle. I stamped the cuff with a magenta stamp christmas trees in glorious green and added the ribbon...99p from the range at the moment.

For the insert I used glorious green and white cardstock. Before adding the white I used a corner punch on the corner which punches the holly and a corner rounder on the green to match.

I used the same magenta stamp to stamp the green trees at the bottom of the insert and then used the Hero Art Script Merry Christmas stamp in real red to finish. I punched a round tab punch so you can pull out the insert. I taped it together, then used the small slot punch to add the ribbon. The white christmas tree is a brad which I cut off the legs..... then used a glue dot to attach.

The addicted ladies are back together tomorrow so I have to get organised and make my card!! Always done at the last minute. I've had all summer to come up with a card and YET I leave it to the day before to come up with something!!!! Tutt! Tutt!

First I am going to the movies with my hubbie as its our wedding anniversary on monday - 19 years!! I will make him a card but he doesn't really like cards! What a hobby to have ......

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

My First Criss-Cross Card......

Over at Splitcoast stampers they have a tutorial for making these criss-cross cards, so I thought I would have a go.

This is what I came up with for my first attempt....

I used some lilac cardstock for my base card. The patterned paper was from a dovecraft paper pack from the range. I used a 2" scalloped circle punch to go behind the embossed circle which is a cuttlebug mini embossing folder - Winter Jelly.

For the insert, I also used the lilac cardstock and added some white. I used the corner rounders for the corners and stamped the hero art snowflake border across the top. The greeting and igloo are from a sentiments exactly clear stamp set, stamped in pixie pink and lovely lilac stampin up ink. I used the round tab punch and added a snowflake brad to finish it off.

Have a look at the gallery at splitcoaststampers for some fantastic cards using this layout, they are fab:-)

Have a great day,
Jenny:-) xx

More Daisies.......

More Big Shot Daisies.....

Another square white card, but this time I cut out the circle in the middle and attached the cut out part to the inside of the card.

I used a 3" scalloped circle punch and a 2.5" circle punch to hold the daisies to the straight piece of card in the middle.

The patterned paper is the same as the previous cards, Tutti Fruitti......

This is a better photo of the previous card, I don't know how to take off photo's of this blog without removing the whole post!!!! If anyone knows can you leave me a comment please....:-)

Another Big Shot Daisy Card

Boy! Have I made a mess in my craft room yesterday.
I haven't had alot of time since last thursday, due to coming back from holiday and catching up with washing etc, also my boys went back to school, so had to get them ready. So I didn't have any cards ready to post:-( I will try and get back to stamping this week!!!
The Big Shot cuts 3 Daisies at the same time so this is why I have made 3 cards very similiar as I didn't want to waste the other ones cut out. I love these 2 colours of pink cardstock from Stampin Up!! The only difference on this card is, I added a 2" circle punch out, which I embossed with the tiny bubbles embossing folder behind the last layers of daisies.
I can't believe I have gone over 4000 hits on my blog!!!
Thankyou ever so much for your lovely comments, I wasn't sure many people would be looking at my efforts in cardmaking. So when the counter hits 5000 I will be offering some Blog Candy.......xx
Have a good day,
jenny:-) xx

Big Shot Daisies

While I was playing with the Big Shot Daisies Die, I made another card.

This is also using the Riveting, Doodle this and a greeting from the Garden Whimsey Stampin Up sets.

I cut the circle with my making memories circle cutters and used the tiny mosiacs embossing folder to get the tiny embossed squares.

The patterned paper is also Tutti Fruitti, thanks Janette:-)

I have some more Daisies left over, so I will play on....
